Black Gay Pride

Freuds Group.

The LGBTQ+ community have made many positive strides in today’s society however, many gay black individuals still don’t feel seen or heard despite their contribution to the creative culture our society, even the world enjoys and experiences today. The gay experience is widely misunderstood and under appreciated, due to many contributing factors; differences in culture and religion, and so much more. This is demonstrated not only in how the gay community carries itself and approaches day-to-day life, but also the way in which gay-activism is fought. It is not just s fight which happens when the Black LGBTQ+ community marches in their separate Pride.

I'm delighted to have produced and hosted the conversation series ‘Brainfood’, a session celebrating the black gay community at PR agency, Freud. I truly believe culture is the heart of any great piece of work - it finds the connection which allows us all to identify in some way. Through this project I really got to show real life stories and share them in a thoughtful, inspiring and genuinely-heartfelt way.
